It’s Friday, you ain’t go no job and you ain’t got… Oh wait, no. That’s a line from the movie Friday. Darn you Chris Tucker and your wittiness crowding my mind.
Where was I? Oh yes, It’s Friday! Cheers to the freakin weekend! If your week has been as insane as mine has, you will be ready at 5:01pm with that wine bottle. Maybe earlier. I’m here to tell you, that wine is Healthy for you! No really!
The folks at One Hope wines (yummy by the way, AND they support autism research/fundraising.) made this infographic to see, is that myth true? Is wine healthy? All in moderation of course…

I love wine, in any form. Sangria is something I’ve only been introduced to in the last couple of years. It is gooooooooood! Here is a recipe I created for an informal sangria to serve to friends and family (or just hide in your room drinking while watching The Real Housewives of AnyCity.

I love wine. That’s no shock to anyone here right?! Well a good friend of my Husband & I makes THE best sangria ever. Hands down. He’s given me his recipe but no matter what I do, it just doesn’t taste the same.
So, I’ve decided to just come up with my own. I was going to name it “2nd Rate Sangria” or “Not as good a Jorge’s Sangria” but thought people wouldn’t be able to roll that off their tongues as well. So, since it’s Sunday… Sunday Sangria! It’s very refreshing and full of antioxidants. I am not legally allowed to tell you that it will keep you healthy or make you lose weight or any of that, but it has berries rich with antioxidants in it, so I think it’s safe to say that.
You will need a decent sized pitcher to mix this up, but make sure it can fit in your fridge, as I feel this is best chilled.
1 bottle red wine – I prefer a Chilean Red like Casillero del Diablo Merlot, but have also used cheapy Little Penguin cab/merlot blend and it tasted fine.
4 oz Crown Royal – yes, the stuff in the purple bag. You can use another whiskey, but I think this hides the whiskey taste the best.
1 cup sugar
1 cup 7 up
1 cup orange juice (pulp free)
1 pint fresh Blackberries
1 pint fresh Strawberries, hulled and quartered
A whole lotta Ice
You can add any fruit you want to it, sliced oranges also work really well. This will make 2 quarts or more, so make sure you invite your friends or neighbors over to share it with you! This is perfect for staying out until midnight with your neighbors and a bon fire watching the kids shoot off fireworks for the 4th of July, but it may make you decide that roasting hot dogs and s’mores at midnight is also a good idea, and after doing so, I’m pretty sure it isn’t.
**The pic is from my phone, after I’ve already had a glass, so sorry it’s so blurry. Next time I make this I’ll add a picture of the full pitcher, it’s really pretty with all the reds.**
